Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry

Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour must be one of the most exciting tours in South Africa in recent years. The last time that the Boks and All Blacks played in a multi match series was 30 years ago in 1996. The Greatest Rivalry Tour features four matches between SA v NZ, in addition to four warm-up matches against provincial teams. These teams are the four biggest provincial teams in South Africa and include the Bulls, Sharks, Stormers and the Lions. The Springboks will face the Barbarians for a warm up match in Gqeberha on the 20th of June which is now known as the YesPlay Cup.

The Test matches of the Greatest Rivalry Tour

Johannesburg’s Ellis Park Stadium is the perfect venue to kick off this historic tour on the 22nd of August. Everyone remembers the infamous 1995 World Cup final where the Boks won their first World Cup against New Zealand.

The two teams then make their way to DHL Stadium in Cape Town where the second test will take place on the 29th of August. Joburgers are spoilt with two matches taking place in the city as the teams play the third test at the FNB Stadium on the 5th of September. The Springboks Women’s team will in addition also be playing a match against the Black Ferns before the men’s test match. This is the first time that the two teams will meet on African soil and is another piece of history that this tour is creating.

The fourth and final match of the Greatest Rivalry Tour is on neutral ground. The final match features South Africa v New Zealand at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore in the US on 12 September 2026. Organizers scheduled this match on neutral ground because America will host the 2031 Rugby World Cup.

The Nations Championship

The Nations Championship is another first for rugby and will see teams from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres compete. The teams from the Rugby Championship plus Japan and Fiji will represent the South. Whilst all the teams from the Six Nations will be representing the North. Countries from the South will host the first part of competition. However Fiji will play all of their matches in Europe. The competition The Greatest Rivalry Tour falls right in the middle of the tournament.

South Africa will host England at Ellis Park for the first match on the 4th of July. The Springboks will then in addition host Scotland on the 11th of July at Loftus Versfeld. And lastly Wales at Kings Park on the 18th of July.

The tournament’s next part effectively becomes the November tour as the Boks head to Europe for the remaining matches. The springbok fixtures consist of South Africa vs Italy on the 7th of November. The Boks vs France on the 13th of November and the last match of the group round against Ireland on the 21st of November. Twickenham will host the Final Series, where the winner of the tournament will be decided.

Test matches outside of the two tournaments

The Springboks season would not be complete without a match against the Wallabies and Argentina. The Springboks will travel to Argentina for a match on the 8th of August in Buenos Aires. They will then make their way to Australia for test against the Wallabies on the 27th of September in Perth.

Which Rugby Betting Site Should Springbok Fans Choose?

The best rugby betting site depends on how each punter likes to bet. Betway and SuperSportBET suit fans who want polished sports betting platforms with strong brand recognition. Playbet and Playa Bets offer a more entertainment-driven feel, while Jabula Bets and Mzansibet bring local flavour and simple access to popular sports markets.

However, Springbok fans should always compare odds before placing a bet on any Springbok Fixtures in 2026. Rugby matches often swing on small margins, especially when the Boks face teams like the All Blacks, Ireland, England, or France. Therefore, a better handicap line, stronger winning margin price, or boosted odds offer can make a real difference.

Above all, South African punters should only use licensed betting sites, bet with a clear budget, and treat rugby betting as part of the match-day entertainment. After all, backing the Bokke should add excitement to the fixture, not pressure. When the Springboks hit the field in 2026, these rugby betting sites will give fans several exciting ways to get involved, support the green and gold, and enjoy every tackle, maul, scrum, and try.
