How Does the Pro20 Tournament Work?
The competition starts with two pools of eight teams. After the opening round, the top four from each pool advance to the Super 8s.
However, those qualifiers do not start again from scratch. They carry forward the points they earned against the other qualifying teams from their original pool, then face the four qualifiers from the opposite pool.
Consequently, early results can influence the race for the semi-finals long after the group stage ends. A narrow win or a valuable bonus point can make a difference when the table tightens.

To qualify, eligible adult spectators must make a clean, bare-handed, one-handed catch of a ball struck for six. The ball cannot touch another person or object first, and organisers must verify the catch using acceptable video evidence.
