The 2026 Andorra Epic
July is the month of cycling, and fans of the sport will be happy to know that it features two of the biggest events on the 2026 calendar. First, the Andorra Epic kicks off on the 2nd of July. Then, of course, the Tour de France cycles off on the 4th of July.
The Andorra Epic is Europe’s answer to the Cape Epic. It takes riders through the toughest and most beautiful terrain that Andorra has to offer. The race takes amateurs and professionals on routes that weave through the Andorran Pyrenees, making it one of the toughest mountain bike races in Europe. In fact, expectations are high for The Andorra Epic 2026 to raise the bar even further.
The Epic Series
It is no coincidence that the Andorra Epic so closely resembles the Cape Epic. Indeed, the two mountain bike races fall under the same umbrella series. The series consists of five different races held around the world. These include the Cape Epic, 4Islands Epic (Croatia), Swiss Epic (Switzerland), Andorra Epic, and the Wines2Whales (South Africa). The race offers riders who do well the chance to earn qualification slots for the ABSA Cape Epic. Furthermore, riders who complete the Cape Epic and two of the other Epic Series events earn the Epic Legend medal. Riders who win the medal become known as exceptional riders in the cycling world. Notably, the races do not have to be finished in the same year to win the medal. Looking ahead, The Andorra Epic 2026 will be a key event for cyclists seeking the Epic Legend status.
The Route of the Andorra Epic
The Andorra Epic is a four-day mountain bike race. It takes riders on an adventure through the iconic mountain trails of Andorra. The race guides riders through World Cup tracks and scenic descents. Although the distance cycled over the four days is much shorter than the Cape Epic. The race makes up for that with the amount of elevation gain riders must face. Teams of two riders each complete the race, which runs mostly on single track. The Andorra Epic 2026 promises some exciting modifications to the already challenging route.
Day 1 – Pal Arinsal to La Massana

A Race to Remember

This year, fans favour Belgium’s Wout Alleman to win, alongside Andreas Seewald and 2025 champions Marc Stutzmann and Sebastian Gesche Antona. Meanwhile, Anna Weinbeer and Natalia Fischer stand out as the lead contenders for the women’s title. As the third race of the Epic Series, the Andorra Epic leaves the SPAR Swiss Epic in Switzerland and the FNB Wines2Whales for the rest of the year.
