Our October Sports Preview has all the details of the major sports that took place during the month for those who are just coming out of hibernation. Here is a look at what is in store for November sports fixtures 2026 for fans of sports betting in south africa.
Nations Championship
2026 has not been the usual rugby calender that we have become used to due to the Greatest Rivalry Tour earlier in the year. The Rivalry Tour meant that some countries was losing out on some much needed game time and so the Nations Championship was born. The Nations Championship sees the 6 best teams from the Southern Hemisphere compete against the 6 best teams from the North. These include all the teams from the Six Nations and South Africa, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Fiji.
What makes this competition different from the normal tours that Southern hemisphere teams do to the North in winter, is that there is a finals weekend where the ultimate winner will be decided.
The Springboks come into the Championship with a lot of squad depth and knowledge on the back of a few loses in the previous matches. Our men in green and gold are on top of the table. Although they are actually level with the All Blacks with both teams having won all three of their matches only beating them in points difference. France is at the top of the Northern Hemisphere table.
Springbok fixtures November 2026 include the following matches in the Nations Championship:
- Round 4 Boks vs Italy on the 7th of November at the Allianz Stadium.
- France vs Boks on the 13th of November is Round 5 which is at the Stade de France.
- Round 6 South Africa vs Ireland on the 21st of November at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The Finals weekend will be between the 27th to the 29th with two matches taking place daily.

URC Update
The URC is heating up, with the Bulls, Stormers and Sharks all sitting inside the top five after four rounds. While the Lions have some catching up to do in 11th place.
The Bulls beat Ulster 34-26 at Loftus, the Stormers edged the Scarlets 52-40 in Cape Town. Meanwhile the Sharks earned a solid 36-21 win over Cardiff in Wales. Unfortunately, the Lions went down 31-10 against Edinburgh and now face another tough assignment against Glasgow Warriors. Upcoming URC fixtures sees the Stormers host Ulster, the Bulls welcome the Scarlets, and the Sharks travel to Munster in the next round on 30 and 31 October.
After that, the URC schedule makes way for the November international window, when the Springboks take centre stage. So, supporters will have to put their club jerseys aside for a bit. Don’t worry, though there should be enough Bok rugby to keep the braai going while the local franchises recharge their batteries.
Sevens 2026/2027
The 2025/2026 season of the Sevens did not disappoint for South African supporters. The Blitz Bokke emerged victorious and lifting both cups after beating Fiji in the final in the World Championship and well as winning the Series Championship. The women’s Aussie team won SVNS World Championship while the Black Ferns won their 5th HSBC SVNS Series title.
The start of the new season is now around the corner with the first set of Dubai Sevens kicking off late in November on the 28th and 29th of November. The next round is the Cape Town Sevens on the 5th and 6th of December. The men’s and women’s matches are played on the same days with the Cape Town matches definitely worth going to if you are in the area.
Proteas men and women fixtures
The Proteas has had a good start to the season. They beat neighbours Namibia and Zimbabwe in a series played in Windhoek and won the ODI series against Australia.
Their next challenge is Bangladesh. The Tigers will be touring South Africa for 2 test matches, 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches. The series against Bangladesh comes to the crease on the 15th of November with a test match. The series finishes on the 13th of December. This however is not the last team that Proteas will play in 2026. As they will then welcome England who will be touring South Africa in December.
The England tour of South Africa features 6 fixtures consisting of 3 test matches and 3 ODIs. South Africans can therefore look forward to recovering from Xmas festivities with a classic test match which starts on Boxing day the 26th of December. And over the New Year they will be playing at the Newlands Cricket grounds with new title sponsor YesPlay. The Proteas women team takes a breather over November with a home series against India in December.

Horse racing
Summer is the perfect time for horse racing and Mzansi has 4 major horse racing events including the Summer Cup, Cape Met, L’Ormarins King’s Plate and Durban July. Durban July is South Africa’s biggest horse racing event but falls mid winter in July.
November horse racing sees the Summer Cup kicks off the festivities on the 28th. The event takes place at the iconic Turffontein Race situated in the South of Johannesburg. The race is as old as Joburg itself. It’s roots can be traced as far back as 1887 when the purse for the race was £250. The city might have undergone some changes since then but the race is still pure exhilaration across the 2 meter course.
The theme for this year is Celebrate Summer and is all about vibrant colours that celebrate the event and Jozi. What makes this event so great is that the general admission is only R100. This means that the whole family can go and experience. The events offers live music, food as well as fantastic races over the course of the day.
