The most expensive player of the season is Jos Buttler, the England captain. Gujarat Titans paid just under 8 million US dollars for Jos. Fast bowlers Trent Boult, Josh Hazlewood, and Jofra Archer all went for 6.3 million US dollars.
A number of South African players were sold in the auction. Kagiso Rabada joined Gujarat Titans. David Miller heads to Lucknow Super Giants. Quinton de Kock will play for defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders. Faf du Plessis returns to the IPL with Delhi Capitals. The most expensive South African is Heinrich Klaasen, who stays with Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Coaches and Teams for the IPL 2025 Season
Many IPL teams have former international players as coaches. Last season, Mark Boucher coached Mumbai Indians. After the team finished last, Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene took over in 2025. Other international coaches include Stephen Fleming (Chennai Super Kings), Ricky Ponting (Punjab Kings), and Daniel Vettori (Sunrisers Hyderabad).

The Indian Premier League 2025 Season So Far
