The Purple family is growing year on year and they use their brand ambassadors to do so much good work especially in the Hollywoodbets Foundation. The Foundation brings Hope to so many one step at a time. In this article we break down some of these influencers and the amazing work they are apart of.
Let’s have a look at some of these Hollywoodbets Brand Ambassadors and what they do in the purple family. You will see many famous faces from sport to presenters.
Purple Family South Africa
To be part of the purple family has a certain expectation and ring to it. It is an opportunity to do something amazing within the community under such an influential company umbrella. And with many influential people as well.
Jerry Sikhosana and Brian Baloyi
Both Jerry Sikhosana and Brian Baloyi are soccer legends in their own right. Jerry “Legs of thunder” Sikhosana was the first ever Hollywoodbets Brand Ambassador back in 2016 and is still going strong. He is so relatable and loves getting involved in community work. When Pirates defeated Kaizer Chiefs 4-1 in the Bob Save Super Bowl, now known as the Nedbank Cup, Jerry also owns the 26-year record for being the only player to score a hat-trick in the Soweto Derby. He scored three goals against fellow Hollywoodbets brand Brand Ambassador Brian Baloyi. Sikhosana is also currently the owner of soccer team Hollywood Thunder.
Brian “Spiderman” Baloyi joined the purple team in November 2017, he is former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper. Spiderman is arguably the best goalkeeper in South African history. He played in 463 professional matches for Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, and the national team. Baloyi joined Jerry Sikhosana as Hollywoodbets second brand ambassador.
Teko “The General” Modise
Former Bafana Bafana captain and Mamelodi Sundowns Legend has joined the Hollywoodbets Purple Family! What a big personality to join the family. He retired from professional soccer in 2019 and achieved so much in his active years. Teko Modise will be remembered as one of the greatest midfielders to ever play and even captain his country’s football team. He is regarded as one of the greatest PSL players of his era and received many awards and accolades. On joining the Purple family in the summer of 2022 he expressed his excitement about this partnership with the Hollywood Foundation. For they share the same passion to give back to the community.
Vernon Philander
Also known as The Surgeon, is one of the best all-rounder cricketers South Africa has ever produced. In only his eighth match, he remarkably surpassed 50 Test wickets, becoming the player to do it the fastest. In 2016, while taking part in his 19th Test, he would go on to become the player to reach 100 Test wickets the sixth-fastest. Philander made his debut with the Purple Team in January 2023. His hope and belief is that working with the Purple Family and the Hollywood Foundation will amplify the love of Cricket. And will take sports and entertainment to new heights while making an impact in communities. We look forward to seeing the difference Vernon Philander will make.

Akona and Odwa Ndungane
Former Springbok players Akona and Odwa are both Hollywoodbets Brand Ambassadors and have been part of the Hollywood Foundation’s Back to School campaign. Odwa Ndungane was a Sharks player from 2005 until 2017. Akona, who represented the Springboks, played with the Bulls from 2005 to 2015. He was also part of the team that won the World Cup in 2007. They are phenomenal people and do as much as they can for the South African communities. Since the launch of the R4 million back to school campaign , the Purple Team has been out and about delivering school supplies to different areas in South Africa and Africa.
Robert Marawa
Sport Guru Robert Marawa is also part of this fantastic Purple family. He is a very well known and knowledgeable sports journalist and one of the best in the bizz. Robert has been part of many campaigns and the latest one was in March 2023. Together with the Purple Team they travelled to Thepo Ya Rona Secondary School in Golden Highway, Lenasia in Gauteng, for the Back to School campaign. The school received a contribution of school uniforms and shoes from the Hollywood Foundation.
Carol Tshabalala
Hollywood Foundation captioned: “We are proud to announce, South Africa’s First Lady of Sport, @simplycarol8 as our latest Brand Ambassador!”. Carol Tshabalala is an award winning TV presenter and radio personality with many other professional talents. She has hosted many events and also covered the Olympics and Paralympics, the Commonwealth Games in Australia and the Fifa World Cup in Germany. With plenty of accolades to be proud of like best radio journalist in 2009 and best television newcomer in 2001, to just name a few. Carol is a lady with a ton of experience and a heart of gold. She joined the purple team in 2022. She stated that Hollywoodbets has its heart at making a positive difference in their communities with different initiatives. Thus as someone who is passionate about women empowerment, becoming a brand ambassador was the next logical step into her journey.

Mike Procter
Former South African Cricketer, Mike Procter, made his official debut with Hollywoodbets in 2020 and is passionate about making a difference in the community. Mike was a formidable all-rounder in his prime. He was also a key part in one of the best lineups South Africa has ever produced, which included players like Graeme Pollock, Barry Richards, and Eddie Barlow. Mike was fierce and quick with the ball and hard-hitting with the bat. He stated that his love for sport and his love for people with the list of those needing and deserving help is endless. Together the Hollywood Foundation and he can all make a difference.
Anthony Delpech
Anthony Delpech, who had spent more than two years away from horse racing, was named a Hollywoodbets Brand Ambassador in 2020. He later also took on the role of Racing Manager for the Hollywood Syndicate, he is a retired Jockey and passionate about making a difference. He won the South African Jockeys Championship three times however he had a career ending accident in 2018 which was heartbreaking. But with 30 years of experience in the racing industry he has ample knowledge to share and give back. He was given the nickname ‘Bonji’ in his apprentice days due to French being his home language. Bonji also achieved many tremendous highs when aboard racehorses all over the world.
Keshav Maharaj
The Hollywoodbets Dolphins and Proteas spinner will collaborate with the Foundation to further the positive effects of sport on local areas. He joined the Purple Team in 2021 and as Sports Development is one of the Foundation’s pillars it is just up his alley. The objective is to utilise the nation’s rich natural talent and give people opportunities so they can grow and eventually become stars themselves. Maharaj stated that the Hollywood Foundation continues to make a difference in communities every day. The fact that they are dedicated to sports development and support of our communities has truly been inspirational.
Stacey-Lee May
Stacey-Lee is known as the Queen of Smoke and has risen to the top of a sport which is dominated by males. She has won the Kings and Queens of Smoke for four years in a row between 2015 and 2018. Spinning is the fastest growing motorsport in South Africa. Stacey joined the purple team not long after appearing in the Spina Zonke Television add in July 2021. She also shot a documentary in the UK in 2022 with Sir Lewis Hamilton. Even though Stacey is relatively young she has plenty of achievements under her belt, from Women of Honour Gauteng in 2019 to a sponsorship deal with Monster in 2018. She believes that no matter where you come from you can do great things! And she is the perfect ambassador to instill this in our South African youth.

Hollywoodbets Brand Ambassadors are enthusiastic volunteer advocates that are passionate about the Hollywoodbets projects and want to spread its message. They get involved with many life changing projects and assist in the communities.
The Hollywood Foundation’s vision is to address numerous social concerns impacting South Africans by giving them hope through a significant donation. Their goal is to provide hope to local communities by working together to bring about sustainable impact. Thus it makes sense having so many influential brand ambassadors around supporting the community.
