Gauteng Summer Cup – Race Info
The biggest Joburg horse race is seen as the toughest 2000m race on the continent. A maximum of 20 horses compete every year in a race that is a great test of speed and endurance. It starts with a 600m straight run and gets really interesting with a steep and steady climb from the 1200m mark. The R1-million Grade 1 race is therefore well-known for thrilling finishes!

SA Champion Trainer Sean Tarry send 5 runners into the Summer cup field. Can last years winner Zillzaal repeat his win? Or will one of the horses by St John Gray be the first one to cross the finish line? Christopher Robin seems to be a horse to watch based on latest success stories. But we shouldn’t forget Paul Peter and his 4-year old horse Summer Pudding. She is unbeaten in eight races and ranks very well with the SA bookies, especially after the withdrawal of Got the Greenlight.
