Last scrums before URC Quarter Finals
The United Rugby Championship 2024/2025 season is drawing to an end. This weekend will see the matches of week 17 out of 18 play out. Three South African teams are in the running to make it through to the quarter finals taking place at the end of May.
The URC tests the depth and stamina of the teams participating by being played over a period of 10 months. Three South African teams also compete in the European Rugby Champions Cup but sadly none of our teams made it past the group stage round. Therefore let us have a closer look at this coming weekend, teams and odds in the URC Update 2025.
Participating URC Teams
The URC Championship starts late September with the final match also being played on the 14th of June. The tournament is made up of teams from 5 different countries. These countries include: South Africa (4), Ireland (4), Wales (4), Italy (2) as well as Scotland (2).
South African rugby fans will also be happy with the progress of three SA teams that have done well up to this point in the competition. The teams competing in the URC from Mzansi are the Sharks, Lions, Stormers as well as the Bulls. The Lions are the only team not in the running to play in the quarter finals.
